By the. last mail from Sydney, advice was received that Miss Ethel Johnson, of Masterton, was making a satisfactory recovery, and it was hoped that she would be sufficiently well to enable her to return to New Zealand in the course of a few weeks. * A,quiet wedding took place at Wellington on Wednesday, wlien Mr Clarence David Cox, of the Railway Department, Wellington, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. C. Cox, of Cambridge Street, Pahiatua, and Miss Delia Winifred Cleary, daughter of Mr and Mrs, John Cleary, of Oamaru, -.were united in matrimony. Mr H. Lorimer, who "has been a ?member of the clerical staff of the 'Pahiatua Railway Station for some considerable time and who has been -transferred to Masterton, was presented with a silver-mounted shaving outfit by the Paliiatua railway staff and Ihe carriers on Thursday afternoon.
