WORKERS' DWELLINGS. The Government has acquired an area of nine acres of land in the borough of Mast-erton for the purpose of erecting workers' homes. This may enable a lew of the factory workers to .secure dwellings for themselves'on reasonable terms. It will not, however, satisfy the demand that exists for' rural homes. The latter "are what are really required for •Masterton. We have meat works employees, shearers, and others who want a few-acres of land from which they can make a little money during what is known as the "off" season. It is satisfactory to know that tho Department is negotiating for tho purchase o§ land jar this purpose within close proximity to the town.
