AN IMPORTANT ASPECT.
Since there is to bo no poll in Ma«terton on the quest ion of the statntorj half-holiday, it behoves every man and woman' who. is opposed to Saturday closing to um his and her best endeavours to secure the return of a Borough Council that will allow tilings to remain/ as they axo on this question. It must bo remembered that the Council fixes the half-holi-day from year to year. In spite of the fact that there has been no poll, the Borough Council may, if it is so disposed, alter uie day of dosing in January next from niursday to Saturday. If the Labour "ticket" is returned, we may rest assured that this course will be pursued. The halfholiday question therefore becomes a most important issue at the election on Wednesday next, and electors should seriously consider the position in the light of what may happen.
