GUN ACCIDENT.

SHOT IN THE FOOT. A serious accident occurred shortly after 5 o'clock on Tuesday evening to Mr Jack Miller., son of Mr G. C. Miller, Town Clerk of Pahiatua. MiMiller had arrived home a few minutes previously, when ih« proceeded outeide with a small shotgun under his arm, with the object of having a shot at some birds in his father's orchard. Th<> m'&rale .was pointing downwards, and when Mr Miller was passing through an opening in a hedge the gun discharged, the content's passing through hi s right foot, inflicting a bad wound. Mr Miller was subsequently taken to the public 'hospital. . It will be some time before he will be able to get about-again.—Herald.
