HIS HOLINESS THE POPE.

The oa.bted information that His I Holiness the Pope is again contain

cent will be received with feelings of immense relief by millions of Roman ] Catholics throughout the world. Al-j though advanced in years, His Holiness has been enabled to make a recovery which is little short of "marvellous. The bulletins that have been published from Rome have been of a most sensational and contradictory character. First we were told that the Pope was Buffering from a slight illness. Then we were assured that his condition was serious. A day or two later we were informed that His Holiness was recovering. Then came the depressing news that he was sinking. Now we are informed that there is no fever, and that the Pope is convalescent. It is a pity, for the sake of those who are so keenly interested in the nealth of His Holiness, that greater discrimination was not shown in the publication of the bulletins. However, it may be taken for granted that, in the absence of any information to the contrary, the Pope has made a remarkable, recovery. This news will be received with profound satisfaction by Romanists throughout tike world.
