CARTERTON NEWS.

Our Own Correspondent. There wa s a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Dalefield Foothall Club on Monday evening, Mr J. Hodder, President of the Club, presiding. The report and balance-sheet was read and adopted, showing a credit of £l3 10s 9d. The subscription was fixed at 4s for senior and 2s 6d for junior members. Thirteen new members were elected, and it wag decided to enter a junior and third-class team in the championship fixtures, the Management Oornimit-tee l>eing empowered, if they thought fit, to enter the junior team in the senior contest. Mr A. Gallon was elected Patron, Mr J. Hodder President, and 23 vice-presidents were also elected. Mr H. Playle was appointed Captain, and Mr V. Aishton Vicecaptain; Mr A. Hart secretary and treasurer, and Mr A. 0. Ablott auditor. Mr W. G. Waterson and the secretary were appointed delagetes to the Union. Mr W. G. -Wat-erson was elected to represent the Club on th« Management Committee of the Union. Messrs 0. Gallon, W. G. Wat-erson, W. A. Hart and the captain were constituted a match and management committee. As a token of appreciation of his services in the past, Mr W, A. Hart was elected an honorary member of the Club. Mr F. Feist was yestarday reelected unopposed to the 'Mayoralty of Carterton. Twelve nominations were received for nine vacancies on the Council, those nominated being as fallow:—(Messrs W. H. Baillie, Jas. Gallister, W. Fiisher, G. Hughan, T. H. Hughes, H. Hutchinsion, A. S. Judd, J. Poddy, B. Roberts, L. H. Smart, W. Stevens, F. E. Tyler. Carterton has not had a Borough Council election for some time past, difficulty having been found to get enough nominations to fill the vacan T cies. Mr H C. H. Bowen. who has been on a holiday visit to her parents at Auckland, has returned to Carterton.
