SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS
The annual meetings of householders, for the election of School Committees for the coming year, will take place on Monday evening next. The work of School Committees is a work of love. It is a work inJ which every father of a child should he interested. School Committees have the respon* sibility cast upon mem. of electing members of Education Boards, of making the final selection of teachers, of attending to the sanitary arrangements at tlie schools, and of generally safeguarding the welfare of the rising generation;. A School Committee, if it be composed of men who are enthusiastic in the cause of education, may do much to assist the Boards in the important duties' ;they have to fulfil. Education is beyond the realm of party politics. It should be outside the pale of sectarian or other influences. It is a noble cause that should be entrusted to men with noble aspirations. We sincerely hope that the householders of Masterton will show by their presence at the meeting on next Monday night that they have a lively interest in the educational welfare of the young.
