"The Maori at Home in X.Z." gives an interesting subject light and includes a haka and a poi dance. Other fine films were: "Port Said," "Shinbuildiiig," "A Game of Chess," "A"ens? of Burglars," "The Hoodoo Hat," a:id "The Safety Overcoat."
TOWN HALL PICTURES
"THE MILL OF THE GODS." The big attraction at tlio Town Hall on Saturday drew crowded audiences at each session. The beautiful-ly-coloured film—"The Milt ai the Gods"—is by the Yitagraph Company, and all' who witnessed it on Saturday pronounced it one of the most thrilling and interesting, romances conceivable. The- film, which is 4l)i;0 feet long, is made, up of three parts, andthe subject portrayed is from the pen of the -popular novelist, G. P. Dillen- ! back. One of tlie startling featumxi of the picture is the great fire scene, | in which a daring schemer meets the ' death to which he has already sent! another. The Yitagraph Company arc : also represented on the programme ' with a special comedy in "Flirt or Heroine," whicTi abounds with humor- ' ous situations, and the leading part is taken by this. l company's popular artist, Florence Turner, as Jean Harley. A picture of much interest was a 'Pathe scenic in "Winter Sports at Mt. Kos'iuski," which, abongst other snow scenes, .shows Mi? notable winter .sport of of ski-ing.- The Pathe Company's production, "Life-Saving Jim," proved a comic picture full of laughable incident, and the "Australian Gazette" was a very popular .production cf the latest news in tli? Commonwealth. The Masterton Symphony Orchestra provided a special programme of appropriate music. This delightful programme will lie repeated this evening.
