DR GILRUTH'S EVIDENCE. POSSIBILITIES OF NORTHERN TERRITORY. (Received this morning 12.20 o'clock.)' SYDNEY, April 20. Speaking before * the. Empire Commission, Dr Gilruth, Administrator of the Northern Territory, described the development possibilities of large areas of land to be as good as the southern States. The idea, he said* of a great central desert was exploded. An attempt should be made to develop the country with white ipeople, agriculturally and .past Orally. He judged from his own experience, and did not think the climate would affect anybody's constitution much. The people of Southern Europe would do well in. the territory.
