ALLEGED CORRUPTION.
BY KRUPPS OFFICIALS. PLAIN SPEAKING IN THE REICHSTAG. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) BERLIN, April 20. In the Reichstag Dr Liebknecht, a Socialist, stated that Krupps and th* manufacturers of Mauser rifles resorted to an illicit method of inducing the leading organs of the French press to create anti-German sentiment, with the object of facilitating an increase in German armaments. He also accused the secretary of Krupps works of corrupting officers and officials in the Prussian War Office m order to secure early information regarding contracts, and an insight into the offers of competing firms. Br Liebknecht stated that, several persons in prominent positions had* been arrested. General yon Hearinger, Minister for War, replied to Dr Liebknecht, and said the -statement was a grave exaggeration. The matter was beinginvestigated. He admitted that one of Krupp's officials bribed sergeants and others to disclose information. He was still uncertain whether the directors were involved. He begged the House to reserve its judgment.
