VISIT TO THE SOUTH. (By Telegraph. — Frets Association.) GORE, Last Night. The Hon W. H. Herries and party, accompanied by Messrs J. Anderson and S. S. Malcolm, M.'sP. for Olutha and Mataura respectively, made a tour-of inspection of the southern railway lines yesterday, visiting Mataura, Wyndham and Glenlutm, where deputations waited on the Minister regarding their requirements. INVEROARGILL, Last Night. The Minister of Railways (Hon W. H. Herries) arrived at lnvercargill on Saturday to continue his inspection of the southern railways. Tn referring to the appointment of Mr Hiley as General Manager, Mi- Herries said he did not know when hew manager would take up his duties ,as it would probably be some little time before lie would be released from his present position.
