MASTERTON GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Masterton Gun Club was held on Friday evening. Mr H. Douglas presided, and there wag a good attendance of members. Tha annual report and balancesheet was presented. The latter showed that the receipts for the Live Bird Match in July amounted to £262 16s 6d, and for the Live Bird Sweep on the following day to £49 15s. For the Olay Bird (Championship the receipts totalled £97 16s, and for the Clay Bird Match at the same meeting £74 9s. Tlie expenditure in connection with the Live Bird Match and Sweepstake and the Clay Bird Championship and Match amounted to £lB3 13s Id, £44 17s lid, £93 17s 6d, and £57 7s respectively. The receipts in connection with the Club shoots were £67 9s lid, against an expenditure of £4'9 lis 3d. The i&eason, after taking into consideration the Club's assets, finished with a credit balance of £136 Ss 9d. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said it was most gratifying to find the Club in such a strong financial position, and they might congratulate themselves om having a very successful season, and from present indications he thought they might confidently look forward to another season equally as good. The report and balance-sheet was then adopted unanimously. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron, Mr A. P. Whatman ; president, Mi- R. Buick ; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Douglas, A. Matthews. A. J. Stone-Wigg, A. lorns, C. F. Sidey, H. Crass ; general committee, Messrs H. Long, J. Whittaker, T. H. Harvey, A. Gunn, H. Wooding, R. J. King, E. Welch; secretary and treasurer Mr R. J. King. It was decided that during the reason £4O of the club's" funds be allocated to eight club shoots for members, £5 to be allotted to each match. It was decided to open the season on May Bth, and to hold shoots fortnightly on Thursdays and Saturdays alternatively, the shooting to commence each day at 2 o'clock sharp. It was also decided that no member be allowed to join in a shoot after the first round.
