CAN ADA'S CONTRIB U T lON. SUGGESTION BY IvEIR HARDIR. (Received Last Night, 10.25 o'clock.) LONDON, April 15. Mr Keir Hardie, Labour member for Merthyr Tydvil. has suggested that a.s gift battleships became a matter for party controversy in Canada, the Government should suggest to the. Hon. R. L. Borden not to proceed with the gift of l>attleships to the Motherland. The Rt. Hon. H. H. Asquith refused, stating that the matter wa.s one to be decided upon by the Canadian Government.
