TODAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Kev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening wired as follows: A remarakble storm has passed over New Zealand, the barometric gradiant being very steep to the southward. On Saturday evening at Macqua/rrie Island the record was 27.91 inches, while the barometer was still high in the north of New Zealand. Heavy-westerly gales have been experienced, with considerable rain over the Soiiith Island, present indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds, with a rising barometer and cold and changeable weather, probably improving temporarily shortly, though conditions are still unsettled and another low pressure area is due to pass in the South about Thursday.
