STORM AT NAPIER.
- SHIPPING AT A STANDSTILL. (jßy Telegraph.'—'Press Association.) NiPTER, Last Night. The storm w'hich has been raging here for the last two days somewhat moderated this morning, but there is •still a very heavy sea rolling in, and at high tide tlie waves were continually clashing over the breakwater and Marine Parade. Shipping operations are practically at a Standstill. The MokoiaV which arrived from the south early this afternoon, was unable to come alongside the bre-3V-wrtter, and was tendered in the '.roadstead. Seven passengers for this port were ; landed, but none embarked for the northern journey. Nither in-' ward nor outward cargo could be handled, and the Mokoia left for northern ports at- 4.45 p.m. She wall •all at Gisborne "if "possible, lr is not held to be likely. Other vessels in the roadstead andjxt the breiik-watei-—the Kini, Karnmu, and Whanbeen compelled to riit ov to sea, and are standing off unt' 1 the sea moderates.
