LANSDOWNE WATER SUPPLY.
The comprehensive report from Mr G. Laing-Meason, C.E., that is published in this morning's Age, should go some distance towards allaying any anxiety that may exist concerning the Lansdowne water supply. From this report it appears that the source of the supply has been somewhat interfered with by the roots of willows penetrating the pipes. Mr LaingMoason, however, ridicules the idea that the water itself has become polluted. Hi s opinion conflicts, to some extent, with that of the officials of the Health Department; but it is none the less valuable. It would appear, from-the details furnished in the .report, that an expenditure of a few hundred pounds will provide an adequate and wholesome supply of water. The Masterton County Council will probably consult the Health Department further Ijefore it takes definite action in the matter.
