A WELL-DESERVED TRIBUTE.
The tribute paid Mr William Perry by the members of the Masterton A. and P. Association on Saturday last was thoroughly well deserved. In the younger generation of settlers, there is possibly no name that is more closely associated .with the show rings of the Pominioil tljat of Mr Perry. As one or two of the speak-: ers painted out at Saturday's gathering, Mr Perryj ihas raked the aildtastry of sheep-breeding in this district to a very jhigh Standard. He has, indeed, made .the Wairarapa famous throughout the Southern i Hemisphere, and iin various other Darts of the world. His efforts on behalf of tihe Masterton A. and' P. Association are too well-known to require recapitulation. The annual shows at Solway will stand as a permanent memorial to the energy, and fckil.l of Mr Perry and bis confreres. We join with scores, nay, hundreds of settlers in the Wairara.pa in wishing the Squire of Penrose, with his helpmate, . a pleasant and profitable trip to the Old Country, and a safe and speedy return.
