OUR DAIRY HERDS.
The operations ef the Cow-testing Associations are only useful in so fa<r as they enable owners-to discriminate between the cood and bad in exist-" iii;r daity herds. They do not ma' tia.lly assist in building up the herds. This can only bo done by the judicious selection of the best milking strain# the world produces. In this connection, wo are pleased to note a di.spos.it.ioii on the pn.rt of Wairarapa breeders to place at the disposal of dairymen tho progeny of the very best herds. The importation of Holstein .stock just made from America by Mr William Barton, of iFeatherrston, will 'be valuable addition to, the sttul of the district, and! we cordially congratulate Mr Barton on iiis enterprko.
