BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS.
At the conference of the Women's Christian Temperance Union recently •held'''in-^following resolution was unanimously carried: — "That this Convention strongly oondemns the platform of the Bible-in-Sohools League." 'Dke reusoßfi ghrea in support of tbif
resolution are those which have so frequently boon urged in our columns, viz., that the League is eoid-eawuring to plaoo "an improper responsibility oil the shoulders of school teachers, and is paving tlie way to denominationafem in its worst form. It is true that the Convention passed a resolution in favour of what is known a.s tlio Nelson system. Even this, however, is open to objection, though not in the wwne degree as the system proposed : by tho Bible-in-School.s League.
