TWO SHOOTING FATALITIES.
IN CHRISTCHURCHr DISTRICT. (By Telegraph. — Press Association.) OHRISTCHURCH, Last Night Brief particulars of the shooting fatality, which occurred at Hororata yesterday, were received to-day. The body of Jame s Phillips, «£S4 65> . a iar.ra.-er residing in the Colgate dis-" tt'k'ti Wii'§ fCtilid with the top of his head blown off by a gun shot. Phillips was out rabbit shooting, and it is assumed that the fatality was the result of an accident. A shooting fatality occurred at Rangiora lafct night, hi iSomewha]jjb ususual circumstances. John Samuel Ingram, 25 years of age', and unmarried, returned to his father's house slightly under "the influence of liquor. His father remonstrated with him, and Young Ingram went upstairs and got a revolver, and. went down again. It is not yet quite clear whether he deliberately shot himself, or whether the revolver went off by accident; but the bulet entered hm accident; but the bullet entered the bead ,and he died at 12.30 a.m. today.
