Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale as follows: We offered an exceptionally heavy yarding of cattle "comprised mostly of grown (Hillocks, and a fair yarding of sheep. A distinct feature of the sqle was the entry of 000 head of cattle on behalf of' Mr John Strang, Glenside, the bu.'k of which were partienlfirh- good quality in splendid_ condition, "buyers being lory complimentary in their remarks as to the quality offered and th; l manner in which they were drafted. Four hundred of this entry was .sold, only two lots Jailing to change hands offers being obtained within as to 10s ofvendor's anticipations; 100' 2s-vear Shorthorn luilloeks. bred at Glenside, in first class condition, makin" £6 10s. Several useful lots of bullocks were offered on behalf of other vendors, Mr Ole Isaks«n'«"selling: 34 at £6 18s, 27 at £5 10s, and Messrs W.veth Bros., Mikimiki, one pen at £6 10s. Sheep sold better than last week, an improved tone being prevalent, and a line of 4 and 6-tooth cull ewes offered on behalf of Mrs H. Holmes making 14s 6d. . Quotations': 130 forward bullocks (Gl?nsicle) £7, 57 p.a. do. (Glenside) £7 os, 100 2j-year steers (Glenside) £6 10s, 31 18-month do. (Glenside) £4 9s, 26 18-month heifers (Glenside) £3 3s. Ltd.. report on their Sol way sale as follows: A good yarding of all classes of sheep were offered to- a large attendance of buyers. CLEARING SALE
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a very successful clearing sale at Martinborough of horses on Tuesday qn account of Mr A. H. Brentnall. The attendance -was satisfactory. and every horse offered changed hands under; the hammer. Competition in manv instances was keen esnocially for the vounger horses, and prices realised Avere all through very good. Although all the horses submitted for sale were iust out of hard Avork. Mr Brentnall de-serves credit for bringing his horses before the. public in first-class order.
