NEW SOUTH WALES LOAN.
Tho Nov; .South Wale.? three-million loan appears to have captured the British public. It is short-dated, and th-.-- terms are consequently attractive. What is good for the British investor, however, may not prove good for New South Wales. The tendency in the money market is to harden tho rate* of interest. This is why investor? prefer «,hort-dnted debentures, and it is why Now Zealand lias made a better bargain than New iSoutli Wales. When tlie financial newspapers of tho Old Country commend a loan, one can lie satisfied that the bargain is a good one for tho investors, but perhaps not quite so good for the borrower.
