FURTHER IN MASTER,TON.
In the Magistrate's Court at Masterton yesterday a Territorial named Edward H. Harper wa.s charged with failing to attend drill on January I.6th. Tie defendant stated that he had not received the notice requiring him to, attend drill. His address was "Matalfi'ivi, jVlaisterton," and lie receive a notice in February addressed "Mata. hiivi." The notices went, in his opinion, to Matahiwi, in Hawke's Bay. His Worship held that there was insufficient proof that notices had "been served, and dismissed the information . David W. Flett, who absented himself from parade on. account of being engaged harvesting, was fined 5s and lis costs. Henry ,T. .Tones, another defaulter, explained that he worked from six o'clock in the morning nifntil six at mV.ht, and attended parade as often as he could. His Worship told him '.voir 1 have to be more regular in his attendances, and imposed a fine of 5s and lis costs.
