AN UNIQUE WILL.

PRODUCED AT A MASTERTON INQUEST. WRITTEN ON FIELD-GLASS CASE AND A RIFLE BUTT. At the inquest in Masterton yesterday on the body of the late Mr Piobert J. Ewington, one of tlie most remarkable wills that can surely bo on record in the world, was produced. A witness named John Fletcher stated that When he arrived at the '.-pot where the deceased was lying, lie spoke to Ewington, who asked him to get his field-glass case and rifle. Ewington said, "I have written on them," and asked Fletcher to read the writing to him. Witness did "so. and then asked Ewington, 'ls 'that right?" The deceased replied, "Yes." Deceased then asked witness to copy the writing and send it to his orother Charles at Masterton. The writing on the field-glass case, which had been 'Scratched with a pieco of wire, or a nail, was as follows : "Look after Maudie and the children. Look after things, Will. I appoint R. Dagg and Charley. (Signed).—BOß." On the same case were 'scratched the words "Hard Luck!"—BOß. On thp butt of the rifle there were scratched these words:— . "Dear Charley.—Give Will Harding every chance, and he will help Maude and my family. Put him on the right road.—(Signed) BOB." There were also scratched on the rifle butt the words, "Don't forget Will Harding, and spare :*\pense." Written on the bottom of the iieldglass case were the following words in plain letters: "R. Dagg and Charley." The Coroner had the writing carefully attested yesterday, and it will be used as the last testament of the deceased; no other will having been le.fi.
