RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE TRENTHAM MEETING OPAKI TEAMS IN GOt)D FORM. (By Telegraph.—Press. Association.) TRENTHAM, Last Night. To-day's sJiooting saw several disasters befalling the loading competitors, Tho wind, which was gusty throughout, varied considerably in strengtn, and tho competitors had much difficulty in fixing tho windage. The. wind changed at times from dead rear to left rear. A most remarkable feature of the day's shootng wai-s the collapse of Drummonct, who entered on the day's shooting with 376, occupying eighth position. Counting i n his two sighters, he had to-day 22 shots, but failed to find the target with a single one of them. Potter, of Auckland,' commenced the day with a cleai load of ten points, and finished up in 23rd position, nineteen points behind the leading scorer. In the Hawke's Bay Match, Frank, of Christchurch, registered a possible, at the 1000 yds, under most difficult shooting conditions. Sutherland, a tyro from Goodwood, also scored fifty. Opaki had easy wins in both the C.A.C. contests, most of their team shooting consistently throughout. In the Champion Teams Match, Sandford, of Christchurch, the last man, wanted a magpie to enable his team to win, and he succeeded in finding a bul!'s-eve.

In connection with the disaster to Dnnnmond's score to-day, it now appears that his rifle barrel had been "tripped, which of course accounts for Drummond's failure to hit the target.
