THE SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—You are welcome to your opinion as to who was responsible for the slaughterman's strike. There is one thing that is certain, and that is that whoever was responsible is ■deserving of the thanks of consumers. A month or two ago it coist me about 10s a week for butcher's meat. Now I can get along Easily on half that amou'nt. The price of sheep having come down, that of mutton lias come down with it. I am not a believer in strikes, as a rale, but if they bring down the cost living, as this one has done, I shall not view them altogether with 'displeasure.—l am; etc., HEAD OP FAMILY. Masterton, March G, 1913.
