BATTLESHIP NEW ZEALAND.

The battleship New Zealand, the gift of the people of this Dominion to the Empire, will be in local waters in the course of a few weeks. It is to be hoped that, wherever possible, arrangements 'will be made to enable the school children of the Doininion to inspect the vessel. An object-les-son would thus be provided which would leave a lasting and whoesome impression on the minds of the y ung. It is probable that the battleship will lie in Wellington for several days. The educational authorities should arrange with the Railway Department for cheap school excursions, so that parents as well as their offspring may lie afforded an opportunity of viewing the instrument of war which has done more than anything else : n recent years to strengthen the ties between the Motherland and the distant parts of the Empire.
