WHEAT HANDLERS' STRIKE. (.Received Last "Ninht, 0 o'clock.) iSY DNF.Y, March I. As tho result of the wheat, handlers' strike, a number of vessels arc held up. Others surrendered their chartel's, and have gone elsewhere to load. REFUSE TO WORK WITH NONUNIONISTS. (Received Last Night, 11.50 o'clock ) LONDON, March -I. A thousand labourers at the London and North Western docks at Garston, Liverpool, have struck, refusing to work with. non-Unionists. Three docks are closed. GENERAL STRIKE FAVOURED. (Received This Mornina', 12.30 o'clock.) LONDON, March !. ■ A meeting in London of the executive of the four railway Unions, representing 170,000 men, discussed the situation. A meeting of general managers of the railways w;i,s lield to-day. Tt is stated that, the companies are preparing for an emergency. The newspapers declare that- the men seem to desire a- strike, and explain that as three other lines cover tho Midland system and the Midland .Company ha,s a pooling arrangement with the London and North Western Company, tho executives favour a general strike.
A STRIKE RESOLUTION DEMANDS OF THE MEN
(Received Last Nitilrt. S.lO o'clock.) LONDOiX, March 1. The Doncaster railwaymen have passed a resolution in favour of a strike to reinstate Richardson. They also decided to demand as an indemnity a universal eight-hours' day and an all-round increase of sixpence daily, with a minimum of 30s per week, and the reinstatement'of all men victimised since August, 1911.
