A very fine series of films has ibcen secured- tor- the change programme to bo submitted at-the Town Hall tiwiight Two topicals are amongst the number, which contain interesting tit-bits from tlie world's great centres. Scenes in Tahiti is a, capital travel film by the .Selig Company. This "Sunlit Isle of the South Seas" niukes a. picture in which the various interesting scenes of island lifo are vividly portrayed. Through the Bay of Biscay, another good scenic, will bring back memories of these troublesome waters to all who have journeyed over them. The list of dramas is heavy and covers plots of entirely different characters. Mainly responsible for this class of film i-s A Mother's Awakening, a suffragette feature drama 'by the Hex Co. r l lie suffragette's child is left to the care of the servants and not allowed to disturb the busy mother. She makes friends with the little girl next door of humbler circumstances. Jemm ■Smith has some kittens greatly adirired 'by the little .suffragette, Alice James. Jennie parts with one of her pets, and Alice takes Kitty home. The servants arc horrified at having the animal in the house on account of tho germ«., When Alice refuses to part with her pet, the mother is appealed to. The mother demands ihe animal should be instantly removed. Alice slips out of 'bed at night to sit 'by her little friend's window to hear the wonderful bed-time stories told by Jennie's mother. Alice decides to
write to the editor of the paper and ask hiim to find her a mother who will tell her stories and let her have a, kitty. Afice, when writing the letter in her mother's offices, hears someone coining, and escapes. H is her mother. S\ie discovers her child's letter and repents. Of the other -pictures it is hard to choose, all being worthy of mention. Motor Adventure, by the Selig Co., stands out as a- comedy drama beyond, comparison,. This programme will he shown tonight, and at the matinee on -ir.,tur~ day only. On Saturday night a 3000 feet Cines drama, The Flower of Love and the Flower of Death, will be shown. WATER RATS. Last night saw another large audience at the T.-P. Electric Theatre to witness the second screening of the current -programme. Water Hats again proved most popular. It is an exciting tale of a notorious gang ot waterside thieves., Rivals, a Selig romance, also proved popular, being a well acted expression play. ,9*he Com lunation of the Safe, a Kalem conception, is a well portrayed detective story, and shows how a talkative parrot supplied the clue which ied 'to the arrest of the thief. A mcst hilarious comedy was shown in An Assisted Elopement.. Wanted a Stenographer was also an exceptionally fine comedy. At Fault is a fine drama, pertaining to the heart. Pathe Gazette and Ganmont Graphic supply the . a test topical events.' Other fine subjectinclude Love's Messenger (A.15. comedy), Swimming Exercises of Italian Cavalry, and Dr Skinnem's Invention. This programme will be shown for the last time to-night. For Saturday night the management announce tV screening of the famous Irish dramn Colleen Bawn, a, production®of conoid erablo length. There will hp the I'smi'' matinee at 2.30 o'clock oh Saturday.
