A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING

The uniiual mparts meeting' of the Forty-Mi.le Bush Athletic Society waheld' on the football grounds kindly lent by Mr M, Galvln yesterday, v in fine weather. Tha attendance wn-s very large, and speaks well of tlto popularity gained by ,this club of recent years. The meeting proved very successful. ~ a.ncl •' tl» programmo. throughout the day was appreciated by the public. The event's were got off 'with punctuality," and to the entire satisfaction of all. . The .runningevents were evenly contested,, and reflect credit upon the official handicap - per (Mr W. J. . White). The Wairarapa Caledonian -Society's Pipe Band was present, .and rendered, a pro-, gramme of selected mfeic, which was much enjoyed. . Great interest was shown in the decision of the various Highland events,' which provided good competition. The hon. secretary (Mr Jas. Galvin) and his willing committee cf officials had., the whole of the arrangements perfect, , The proceedings \vorp brought to a close 'with a grand ball in the Hami?a Public Hall.
