SERIOUS CHARGE
ALLEG EI) CATTLE-STEALIN G. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GORE, Last Night. William John Richards, with several aliases, was arrested at (lore on Saturday on a charge of stealing three cattle at Erlendnle 011 February 11th, and stealing a bicycle at Waianiwa 011 January 3rd. The accused was brought before Justices of the Pence, and remanded for eight days. When arrested, the accused denied the cat-tle-stealing charge, but subsequently admitted it. When searched, a fivechambered loaded revolver was found on the accused, and a number of cartridges. He stated that he purchased the revolver for the purpose of using it if molested while stealing cattle.
