NELSON SESSIONS. A HEAVY SENTENCE. (By Telegraph. —Fress Association.) NELSON, Last Night. The Supreme Court sessions opened to-day before Mr Justice Chapman. There were two criminal cases for trial. Robert Alfred Schwass, charged with (1) attempting to murder his wife by cutting her throat; (2) wound ing and doing grievous bodily harm ; (3) assaulting her, sa as to cause grievous bodily harm; was found guilty on tho second and tliird counts. In .sentencing prisoner to ten years' imprisonment, tho Judge said be bad seldom heard of more barbarous and cruel offences.
