i WOODYILLE RACES. (By Telegraph.—L'ress Association.) WOODYILLE, Last Night. The weather was delightful tor the second tiny'< racing o7 the Wocdville District' Jockey Club's Autunin i lect•ing. The attendance, although not quite as large as the day before 1 was satisfactory. Speculation wa<; brisk, the sum of .I'lU.OiU passing through the totalisator, making £21,173 for the meeting, which is £'1568 more than last year's. The results are as follow : . Rumeroa Hack.—Handsome Maid 1, Alecto 2, Axes 3. Also ran—Master Achilles, Yankee Doodle, SylviaMay, Muscadine, Artificial, The Diver, Martlet and Elk Maid. A good race. Artificial and Sylvia May led :nto the straight, where the placed horses came through with Handsomp Maid in the lead. A desperate finish concluded in favour of Handsome Maid by half a length, a head separating the other two. Time, lmin 2 3-ssec. (Second Hack -Hurdles. —Kauroa 1, Eiva 2, Gay Lawless 3. Also ran— Strategist, Kiiut&ford. Aema, Park T'idei, Divinia, Master Stead, ar,d Overheard. Dirinia and Master Stead fell. Kauroa took command a mile from home and won by three lengths, the third horse a length behind. Time, 3min 5 3-ssec. Ballance Hack Welter.—Huia 1. Settler 2, Waitoto 3. Also ran—Kuropotangi, Mediterranean, Whimper, TopiXote, Taurangi, Otama, Abercoed, Reflect, .Resonant, Crown Battery. Huia was first away, but was headed by Settler, who led to the half distance, where Huia came again and won by half a length, with Waitoto two lengths away third. Time, lmin 29 2-ssec.
Autumn Handicap.—Ariom 1, Bonnie Boy 2, Manitau 3. Also ran—Lad v Moutoa. Rangiatua. Katua, British Maid, Falsetto, Lord Renown. Katua led to the home turn, where A Horn drew out and won by a length and a half from Bonnie Boy, with Manitau a good third. Time, lmiu 5S 1-5 sec.
Settlers' Handicap.—Expect I, Black Lupin 2, Borsil 3. Also ran— Sir Daniel, Sir Saracen, Yankee Doodle, Lambton, Moondine, Waiotapu. Yankee Doodle and Lambton led the field for half the distance,, then BlackLupin took command and looked a likely (winner Ufiitil a dozen yards from the post, when Expect appeared on the ..scene and won by a. length. Time, Imin 10 2-osec. Shorts Handicap.— Sinapis ], Lord Possible 2, Vibration 3. Also ran--Naumai, Ascaloii, Morton, Wa.ic.ru. Handsome Maid. A most exciting .race. Naumai and Vibration led into the straight, when they were joined by Sinapis and Lord Possible, Twenty yards from the post Spinais shot out and 1 won by a clear length, a head separating' second and "third. Time, lmin 1 4-ssec. Hack Scurry—No Idea 1. Chatsii 2, Cadonia 3. Also ran—lnvieta, Oourtley, Lady Worry, Viper, Kokire, Operation, Rangaipoi, Inno'laddo, Elk Maid, Byrock, Merrivonia. Won comfortably by a length Time, lmin 3 2-Sscc. Maharahara Handicap.—Ladv Nolan 1, Mon A,mi 2, Thrave 3. Also ran —Ecologue, Negative, Mt. Victoria, Montreal. A splendid race. All horses ,\vere together entering the straight. Mt Victoria and Lady Nolan took charge and these two were joined by Mon Ami and Thrave. A •ding dong go to the post resulted in Lady Nolan winning by a length and a half with a length between second third. Time, lmin 44sec. W. Young; who rode Menimoa when a few yards from the post fell off, and suffered from slight concussion of the -brain. Before the start m the Autumn Handicap British Maid bolted, and threw her rider, and then went twice round the course, DUNEDIN RACES. DUNEDIN, Last. Night. The Dunedin Jockey Club's - Autumn .meeting was continued to-day in dull but fine weather. Th e racingNvas good, and the totah'sator receipts amounted to £13,1245, as compared with £10,219| for the corresponding day last year.
