Our Own (,'or res pond cut. Mi- T. W. Yo.se, of the Primrose Poultry iFarm, Carterton, has entered a pen of his white leghorn fowls in the South Island Egg-laying Competition, which commences on April Bth. Two rinks from the Featherston Bowling Club met two rinks from the Carterton Club at Carterton on Saturday, in the contest for the Centre Shield'. The weather was very favourable, the green being a little heavy after the heavy rain of the previous night. An interesting game resulted in a win for Carterton by the margin of nine points on the aggregate.
