Lord Selbonie, speaking at Liverpool. stated that while ho accepted Mr Bonar Law's decision in regard to food duties, he.' regretted it. They would, he maintained, be unable to complete Imperial preference without an adjustment of the food taxes. If the Dominions did not receive reciprocal treatment, the day would come .when they would make reciprocal bargains with Germany, or some other country.
