Amateur Athletic Association's twenty-fourtl l championship meeting took place o'l the Basin Reserve on Saturday, i 1: glorious weather, and .before a good attendance. The track was in good order, but a fairly strong northerly wind militated against fast times in the. short events. also against high jumping. McHolm broke the Australasian record for hammer throwing He threw it 14Hft Sin. Wellingtm won the bannei with 68 points, Auckland and Southland having scored 16 each ; Canterbury 7; Otago o. Wellington secured first and .second in threo events, also a. place in every event.

Tracy retired after miles, and Cashm.an beat Johnson by a lap in 22 min 12sec.
