SOLWAY SHOW

Although at .first- it seemed as if the entries for the Solwav-show were this year to fall short of, last year's, entric-s havo come in in considerable nuxbrrs during the past, few clays, and now tho total number -is quite up to that cf last year. In all the important .sections the results are roost gratifying to thp Association, as they point to the show being the finest yet held in tho Dominion. In the sheep sections, thr> magnitude of the> exhibits may b e imagined, when it is stated that no fewer than 176G sheep will be in the pons, and those being the best examples of the premier breeds of the Dominion., The cattle total 300, a mimber not • reached by any show in, tho North Island, The animnls in this section represent all the famous breeds, and are exhibited by the leading stud masters- of the Dominion. The, lionsp sections have fdled splendidly, and every class of animal will bo shown from rtonics to draught horses. Over 160 jumping horses are down to compete in the various leaping competitions, and this great attraction promises this year to eelipso all previous exhibitions.

On ' Tuesday and Wednesday, granted the weather is propitious, the beautiful Sol way ground's will bear a gay and bright, appearance, arid every arrangement has been made for the great crowds expected. The railway arrangements are perfect, ensuring quick conveyance to and from, the grounds. The Association's committee have also arranged to have a. continual stream of cars, taxi-cabs, busses and drags running backwards and forwards at.short intervals, so that visitors to the .show will have no difficulty in getting to and from the grounds. An arrangement that will give satisfaction to many is the provision of a continual supply of hot water, for the convenience of those wishing to have luncheon or tea in the shady grounds. From the above few remarks it will be seen that the Society has left nothing undone to make this year's show one of the most successful on record, and it may be safely concluded that if fine weather prevails, the gathering will be attended bv record success.
