THOMPSON-PA/NE PICTURE CO. WAIRARAPA SWIMMING GALA. Last evening the T.P. Electric Theatre patrons rolled up in force to ' see the screening of the change of programme, Tlie picture of the Swimming Gala, held in the Park Lake on Anniversary .Day, and taken by Messrs Thompson-Payne, was I shown, and proved a decided success. "Monte Ohristo," from Alexander Duma's famous novel, was also a popular number —the story from the book being well portrayed. "Dr Brian Pelle and the Secret Despatch," <a Clarendon conception, shows an exciting chase after a secret service agent who is about to go to Russia with important despatches. A number of exciting chases and "hold-ups" follow and lead up to a sensational finish. "In a Den of Lions," a Nordisk feature drama, 2000 ft in length, [ was a splendid circus story of. a tra- ' peze artist and a tight-rope walker, who were man and wife and whose married bliss wa,s broken by tho attentions of a lion-tamer. The story is very brisk and is full of vim, a splendid act in which lions take part puts a great thrill in the onlookers. The plot i,s well worked and leads up to a realistic finish. "Jiian and was a, sensational railroad drama, i characteristic of this popular company. "Adopted" was a very pretty ' and pathetic drama by tho Selig Co., being a story of an adopted child and its parents' differences. Several other fine pictures included "Funnicus and His Porter," A Japanese Resort, The Dolomites, "Be Back at Three," South Wales and "Mr Stout Goes Out to Dine." Gramaphoiie records now bridge tlio intervals. This programme will be shown to-night and to-morrow night. INTERNATIONAL PICTURES. GRAND PROGGRAMME. I "The Burglar's Dilemma," ;,n A.B. 'exclusive drama, which purports to give a representation of the seamy side of "The Third Degree"—the New York police process—is the premier picture on the programme to .be presented to-night at the Town Hall. The plot, which is very capably acted throughout, tells a story of the serious trouble which a man brought about by his jealousy. The Selig Company supplies a capital domestic drama, entitled "The Brand Blotter." Another fine picture is the Nordisk 2000 ft drama "Tn a Den of Lions." Other good pictures are "The Butler's Revengo" (comic), Williams' Weekly, Gaumont "Graphic, Scutari (scenic), "Dr Brian Pellie," "The Secret Despatches," "Leap Year Elopement" and others. The matinee will, tako place as usual on Saturday.
