A MISUNDERSTANDING.
The Mastorton Borough Council ;nnl the A. and P. Association can.o to a satisfactory agreement at Tuesday's meeting of the Council in relercii-e to the granting of licenses to outside motor car owners, to ply for hire in Masterton during the two days of tin* Sohvay show. Owing to a misunderstanding, the A. and P. Association'* committee concluded that the Council had passed a. resolution debarring outsiders from being granted licenses. After an explanation given by bis Worship the Mayor to a. deputation that waited on the Council on Tuesday evening-, it was made apparent that the Council had no power to ?o deal with any car owner who might apply for a. license, and this rnnouncoment cleared the air. The (pies! ion of regulating the speed, of cars during show days was thoroughly gone into, and a clear understanding arrived atr
between the two bodies. The result is that these wlio patronise U.e Sohvay .show will he able to travel to and from the grounds i» much greater com fort than in the past.
