COUNTRY CLUB'S CHAMPIONSHIP. AT PALMERSTQN. iThe committee of the Amateur Athletic dub met last .night, selected the team for the various distances at the Country Club's Cham- ' pionship Meeting, to be held at PalImerston North on Wednesday, 19th ■February. The club scoring most points in championship events holds tho McVilly . Country Challenge Shield. Mr MoVilly also presented a shield for competition at the recent Provincial Championship, but this meeting is limited to country clubs and includes the folio-wing: Wairarapa A.A'.C., Woodvillcj A.A.C., Feilding A.A.C., and' the' Wanganui A.A.C. The local club will bo, represented as follows in the different championship events: 100 Yards—Messenger, Fisher and Tressider. 220 Yards —Messenger, McKenzie, Fisber and Tressider. 440 Yards —Messenger, McKenzie, Fisher and Tressider. 880 Yards — Bradbury, Tggulden, Perston, Rcwe, and La Roche. One .Mile—Bradbury, Rowe and, Shields. 120 Hurdles —McKenzie, A. Hodge and Iggulden. One Mile Walk—J. J. Taylor, Heeker, A. Hodae. High Jump—A. C- Williams, R. McKenzie and A. Hodge. Long Jump—R. McKenzie and R. Messenger. Teams Relay Race. —Picked on ground. .Members desirous of competing in l !' handicap events at this meeting are reminded that entries close to-night with Mr J. Bradbury, or, the seeretarv of the Palmerston Club.
