CAPITAL IN REBEL'S POWER. SEVERE FIGHTING IN STREETS. (Received this Morning 12 o'clock ) MEN ICO CITY. February 10. President Madcro is now fortified, witli a strong detachment of regular troops in the National Palace, while General Diaz, with a. large majority of regulars has the virtual control of tho capital. , . The armv revolted to-night, talcing possession *of the Public Buildings. The President Hod to tin* Palace, which he succeeded m defending from the Rovoutionis'ts' attacks. General Madcro is relying on 'he loyalty of General Blanquet, who -ia> been summoned from Toluca, with 1000 soldiers. The attack on tlie city was started this morning, when General Mondragona ncb< tudents from the Military School led the rebels to the prison,' sotting free General Diaz's nephew, the deposed President, and General Bernado Reyes, a former Secretary of War. A SANGUINARY BATTLE. The advancing rebels were met hy General M.ldero, commanding 1000 police and cadets. The artillery barracks were captured after a sanguinary battle. The plaza was strewed with the bodies.- of men and horses. Two hundred were killed. The engagement was followed by the surrender of the regular artille:;troops, and tlie inajority of the Government soldiers. General Reyes was killed, and the President retired, fighting three engagements en route. General Gregorio Ruiz and five of .fieers were executed by the President's order.
