THUMPER BENEFIT MATCH. GREAT INNINGS BY TRUMPEK: (Received Last Night, y.3T> o'clock.) SYDNEY, February JO. The weather was fine and the wicket easy for the continuation of the Trumper Benefit Match. Trumper gave a vigorous, niasteily and ehanceless innings, playing for three hours. He hit sixteen fours. He received a great ovation on returning to the pavilion. Eyder was in great form, taking five, wickets lor 15 runs. New South Wales in their first innings made 389. Trumper (not out, 126) and Noble (10) being the ehief .scorers. The Rest of Australia in their second innings have lost >ix wickeis fw 165 runs, Mayne (2(5), Hill (34), Moves (25), Armstrong (not out, 83) and Ryder (not out, 23) being the. main scorers.

The secretary of the committee that inquired into the charges against members of the Australian Eleven. without disclosing the findings, says that many outside statements r>re being circulated which are- gross and -unfair exaggerations.
