Inquiries made to-day disclosed the fact that the majority of those who attended the picnic: of Messrs Weeks, Ltd., at Rangiora. on Saturday, and: •suffered from the effects of ptomaine poisoning, were well enough to refill mo work as usual this mnruing. though some were rather shaky after their unpleasant experience. One young lady, whilst being escorted on Saturday night to her home, a mile or so beyond Papanui, was taken suddenly ill. and her escort was under the necessity of ringing up for a taxicab to convey her to her home. One of the male employees only tool ill to-day, and had to go to his lime, ft is I understood that inquiries will bo made by the Hospital Board's health inspector into the cause of the poisoning.
