THE NEW UNION.
For some monlis past a column of tiio Waiirarapa Age has boon placed woekly at the disposal •of tlic United Labour Tarty, for tho publication of items which-may be of special interest to tho labouring classes. This party has evidently ceased to exist, or its propaganda has ceased to bo pressed, for we arc now in receipt of a circular letter from the "Joint Congress C'ommitee," of which P. 11. Mickey is the secretary, and 11. Semple and P. O, Webb am members, roquosiing tliat we shall publish a weekly column from that organisation. The objective of the "Unity Congress Committee" is "The socialisation of the collec-tively-used means of production, distribution and exchange." With that policy wo have no sympathy. We do not regard it as in the best interests of either the worker or tho State. For that reason, and for tho additional reason that wo consider tho Hiekcvs, temples and Webbs to be disturbers of the national peace, wc must decline to allow our paper to be used as a. medium for the dissemination of their destructive tenets.
