AT HASTWELL. ■Jhj Our Special lie porter.) Tho annual sports meeting of the Hastwell Sports Club was held in Air C. Seymour's paddock yesterday. The weather was glorious, and tho meeting attracted a large crowd of spectators from all parts of the surrounding district, including a number from Mastortoh. The various competitions attracted big fields, and tho everts were keenly contested. In the running events several excellent finishes were witnessed, reflecting credit upon the careful work of the official handicapper, Mr W. J. White. The secretary, Mr A. T. Jackson, assisted by a capable committee, had all arrange. nvents well in hand, and the gathering passed off without a hitch. The meeting will be considered one < f the most successful yet held by the Club. and augurs well for future gatherings. The results were as follow: — Maiden Handicap, 150 Yards. —A. A. Bold 1, G. THE BIDEFORD SPORTS. The annual snorts meeting in connection with the Bideford Sports Club was held on Mr W. Bunny's To Roto proportv yesterday. The weather was delightfully fine, and ihere -as a large attendance of the public. The various events were well contested, some of the finishes being very close. The silver cup for most points in foot events v,n« won by W. TT. French. The enp, for horse-jumnmg events was won bv Mr Gordon L:iinir, and the trophy for most point-; in I'-ii-so events by Mr R. Douglas. The WU<•■<;' bracelet, for the most points in tbo ladies' events, was appropriated bv Mi*= A. McGovern. TV detailed results are crowded out of this is.su 0.
