WHANGAREI'S WATER SUPPLY RUNS SHORT. A SERIOIi~POSITION. (By Telegraph. — Fress Association.) WIIANGAREI, Last Night. Tho continued spoil of dry weather is assuming alarming proportions. The Borough Council issued notices this afternoon that the water in tho reservoir had fallen two feet since. Tuesday. If no rain comos. tho.waterworks engineer estimates that the reservoir will be dry on Sunday morning, As the drainage system is dependent on the water service, if there is no rain it will bo thrown out of action. The weather is humid, and the barometer steady. Rain is apparently improbable. The creeks are drying up fast, and the. matter is becoming serious.
