SIR JOSEPH WARD
AXD MILITARY SERVICE (.Received Last Night, 8.10 o'clock.) LONDON, February (>. - At the Leather-Sellers' annual dinner, Sir Joseph Ward was the principal guest. In proposing the toast of the "Imperial Forces," Sir Joseph «aid that practically every man and woman in New Zealand favoured compulsory military service. WJiilo he thought that the military defence of the country should- be based on a compulsory system, Sir Joseph said they had no right to expect New ZoaJanders to be sent for military servi-M outside, except as volunteers.
