SPORTING
The programme for the Autumn meeting of tho Wairarapa Racing (Tub has been compiled, and shows that the stakes have been increased from £1335 (the amount allotted for last Autumn meeting) to £1575. The Easter Handicap, on the first day, will be worth £250, as against £2OO last year, and for the principal event on the second day—the Autumn Handicap—the amount allotted is £2OO, an increase also of £SO. The balance of the increase has been evenly distributed over the other events. The forward step taken by the Club in connection with the increase of stakes should ensure the nomination of a good class of horses.
