(Received Last Night, 11.20 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, January 17. Four boys were surf bathing at St. Ivilda on a dark night. Two were drowned. The only swimmer in the party rescued a third boy in an uir-" conscious condition. LONDON, January 17 ; The steamer Almeran had a thrilling experience in the Atlantic Ocean. A hurricane smashed; the steering gear, killed a sailor and stove in the hatches. The vessel had a narrow escape of foundering.
