FIRE AT BLENHEIM

BOARDING-HOUSE DESTROYED

(By Teleoravh — Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Last Night. A ten-roomed wooden building occupied by Frederick Batchelor as a boarding-house was totally destroyed by fire la..st evening. Mrs Batchelor, who was the only one in the house at the time, was out in the yard at the rear, when sho heard a .rumbling sound, and looking roun saw the kitchen in flames. A strong wind! was blowing, and the flames rapidly spread. There was no chance of saving anything. A number of boarders lost practically everything. Batchelor is also a heavy loser. The .insurance on the furniture and effects was £240 in the Guardian Office. The. building was owned by tho Home estate, and was insured for £4OO in the Victoria and £2OO in the Alliance Office.
